New Members of Hall of Fame of Poker: Dan Harrington And Erik Seidel

WSOP announced the Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2010 yesterday morning.. The newest members of the Hall of Fame are 1995 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Dan Harrington and eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel.

I have already wrote the Poker Hall of Fame itself and also about Doyle Brunson's feelings about the 10 nominees. He also tried to guess who would be the 2 winners. Now we know, he got Seidel right, but missed about Harrington.

I have also written about the election procedure last time, so I won't bother you with that again, the 10 most voted nominees were the following:

Chris Ferguson
Barry Greenstein
Jennifer Harman
Dan Harrington
Phil Ivey
Linda Johnson
Tom McEvoy
Daniel Negreanu
Scotty Nguyen
Erik Seidel

"I’m very honored to be elected to the Poker Hall of Fame this year and it's an extra bonus for me to be going in with Dan Harrington," said Seidel. "We have played together and have been great friends for my entire poker career. Both of us refined our games at the Mayfair Club in New York. I have such a high regard for the many members of the Poker Hall of Fame that I have played with over the years and it's a real privilege to be able to join them."

Harrington takes part in live tournaments since 1986. He has won the 1995 WSOP Main Event, but made it to the final table in 1996, 2003 and 2004, which is record in WSOP history. He has also won 1996 WSOP $2,500 NLHE Event, hence he has 2 bracelets. He also was the last on standing (or sitting) 2007 WPT Legends of Poker. His total live tournament winnings are $6,608,218 until 2010. He has also written 5 popular books on poker, which are all accounted for as the most influential poker books of all time.
