Environ Wins $160,000 in First Ever Online MTT at PokerStars

Belgian ‘tupac_srj’ won the PokerStars Carnival – 800 Million Celebration event but it is runner-up ‘environ’ in the spotlight on the international forums. Apparently, the Norwegian player cashed over $160,000 in his first ever tournament at the room.

On Sunday, the 800 millionth multi-table tournament took place at PokerStars. The Carnival – 800 Million Celebration event had a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000 but the 21,635 entrants amassed a lot more, a total of $2,163,500. At the nine-handed final table, two times Super Tuesday winner Spanish Oscar ‘MendaLerenda’ Serradell was by far the most recognized player. He was accompanied by ‘hateblondies’, ’tupac_srj’, ‘miami1984’, ‘theNERDguy’, ‘environ’, ‘AirBusA’, ‘Mightyf00l’ and ‘VitinhO Dzi’.

Norwegian ‘environ’ caused the biggest stir in the community by building an enormous stack and playing aggressively and well, while having been tracked to be playing his first ever multi-table tournament at PokerStars. Many players consider this shady at best and they suspect multi-accounting. Players have been discussing the issue on numerous international forums.

Whether ‘environ’ cheated is not yet known. Of course, it is reasonable to assume that a player, who had never deposited before, was lured over to the room by the gargantuan prizes and he happened to run well and lucky. At any rate, the Norwegian made an impressive entrance, ultimately running 2nd. With no deal, he scooped in $160,769.

Victory went to Belgian ’tupac_srj’ for $216,358.
