New Jersey Senator Ray Lesniak generated a lot of discussion with this Tweet, and later he implied that PokerStars could be opening its player pools so that US players would be finally able to play poker with the rest of the world. The Borgata Casino in Atlantic City has been constantly coming up with new legal charges in their case against Phil Ivey. This time, they are claiming that Ivey's edge sorting technique can be considered racketeering. 

As we have previously reported, the nomination for the next two players to be inducted in the Poker Hall of Fame opened not long ago. Now the public nomination process on WSOP.com is done, and the Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council has decided this years final 10 players who have the chance to be a part of poker history. Last week we reported that Phil Ivey has lost $5 million at Full Tilt Poker since the room's relaunch, and that Patrik Antonius has taken him over in the online cash game winners list. Ivey now bounced back with a $850,000 win, while Gus Hansen reached $20 million in losses at the Full Tilt Poker tables.

As we have reported, WCOOP and MiniFTOPS are both starting this weekend, but if you want even more tournaments to choose from, you are in luck, because French site Winamax is hosting their own tournament series, with €6 million guaranteed to be paid out in 76 tournaments.

Today's picture of the day depicts the excitement of Negreanu and the crowd during a big hand that happened during 3-handed play at the $1,000,000 buy-in Big One for One Drop tournament. Christoph Vogelsang went all-in with a short stack and KJ, and Negreanu called with the inferior KT. The flop was AQ8, which gave both players straight draws, but Negreanu only started to really sweat the hand when the 5 of diamonds hit the turn, giving him a flushdraw as well as chop outs, and that was the moment when photographer Drew Amato snapped this picture. The river 5 was one of the chop outs, and Vogelsang busted just a few hands later. 

The 26th edition of the micro/low stakes tournament series starts on September 7 with a $1.4 million guaranteed prizepool to be paid out across 31 events. The schedule is exactly the same as it was for the recently finished FTOPS, the only difference is that the buy-ins cost just 1/10th of the FTOPS buy-ins.
